Mobile Software Engineer - Android

Our native applications power the event and discovery experience for both our attendee and organizer customers. We balance our development to meet the needs of our current customers, as well as pushing the bar on newer technologies to enhance the experience for both the organizers and attendees of any Eventbrite powered event. Learn more about the team from some of our engineers THE ROLE As a Senior Mobile Software Engineer you will collaborate with product, design and other engineers to formulate and implement solutions to various needs and requirements. We work in an iterative fashion to always have a shippable product that can instantly add incremental value to our users. We value code quality and high confidence around our releases. THE TECH STACK We use Java and Android best practices to build our native Android applications. We leverage and contribute back to open source projects as a standard part of our development practices. We also try to build things in a reusable and maintainable way by default. THE SKILL SET 5+ years of experience in software design and development Solid experience with client-side Java and the Android SDK Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills Strong computer science fundamentals gained through Bachelor’s degree in CS, Math, Engineering or equivalent Strong object-oriented programming and design skills Database experience using SQLite or equivalent Experience writing multi-threaded, asynchronous code Understanding of software design patterns and architectural principles Attention to quality through unit tests, automation scripts and performance regression analysis Good communicator and team player with strong organizational skills BONUS POINTS Experience shipping one or more Android apps to Google Play Experience building mobile apps on other platforms Experience with continuous delivery on mobile, including code review, continuous integration, automation and functional testing Experience with iOS development Experience with analytics and tracking solutions such as Google Analytics Experience with Agile methodology Keen eye for user interface design and Android interface design principles ABOUT EVENTBRITE Eventbrite powers ticketing and registration for more than two million live experiences each year, hosting the world’s largest online selection of events. THE SKILL SET Deep knowledge of Swift, Cocoa Touch and vast iOS development experience. Experience working with iOS persistence frameworks (CoreData and  Realm). Experience with third-party libraries and iOS dependency managers (CocoaPods or Cartfile). Wide knowledge about REST APIs. Understand Push Notifications. Understand the process of submitting apps to the App Store, working with Apple Developer Portal and iTunes Connect. Experience working with XCTest iOS framework. Experience working with git-flow. Software Engineer

THE TEAM We opened our Mendoza office two years ago, merging with Eventioz, a local company, and we are looking to grow our amazing southeast engineering team. Hear from the Mendoza Engineering team and meet Ariel Chiat, Engineering Manager in Mendoza. Our primary stack is Python, Django, and Celery, all running on AWS with a MySQL backend. Some of the other tools that we use are Redis, RabbitMQ, Cassandra, Hbase, Hive, Backbone, Sass, Git, and an endless supply of coffee. Haven’t worked with these technologies before? This is an amazing chance to jump in and learn. One thing you should know: we're a people-focused organization. Engineers help each other, work on problems together, mentor each other, fail together, and actively develop their careers. Weekly demos, tech talks, and quarterly hackathons are at the core of how we’ve built our team and product. THE SKILL SET Experience with or the excitement to work with Python and Django web framework 5+ years building applications in a mainstream programming language: Python, PHP, Ruby, C#, C++, Java, etc. Understanding that great code is also maintainable code. You care about making sure your code is well tested. Junior Helpdesk Engineer

THE CHALLENGE As part of the BriteTech team, you will contribute to our support efforts globally. The primary focus of this position will be to support our Mendoza and São Paulo teams. You would be an escalation point for our Mendoza and São Paulo sites to support any and all technical issues while collaborating with onsite business partners, external vendors, and the extended IT group. THE TEAM The Eventbrite IT team, or BriteTech as we are fondly referred to as internally, is responsible for overseeing all internal technical operations. From network services, security and collaboration services, to espresso machine over IP, BriteTech’s goals are to simply reduce technical friction in an effort to nurture an environment where technology empowers and supports the creativity of our Britelings! There are a number of services, software, and hardware solutions required to create a productive and collaborative environment for our Britelings and partners. Creating and supporting this environment takes a team of motivated individuals. We build the internal technology environment around the pillars of simplicity, efficiency, security and scalability. The team supports a global staff who are creating a global service. We are a diverse, global, forward thinking team and are looking for that special someone to join us! THE ROLE You’ll provide day to day support for our Mendoza, São Paulo, and global teams by working closely with all departments to eliminate any technical friction and improve existing internal services. You will also be an escalation point and assist the extended IT group with any large projects or internal infrastructural troubleshooting. THE TECH STACK Internal System administration (G Suite, Okta, Salesforce, JIRA, JAMF, etc…), A/V Support (Conference rooms, Event spaces, Google Hangouts), Desktop Management (Mac OS X, Windows), Mobile Device troubleshooting, Telephony (VOIP, WebRTC), Monitoring/alerting, Security, Wireless (support and configuration), Network troubleshooting, Active Directory, VMWare. The Skill Set: A bachelor's degree with at least 1 year of experience working in an IT Support function for a rapidly growing company. Experience troubleshooting complex IT problems.Experience configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting Mac OS X and Windows desktop and server systems. Experience configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting network equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, wireless and VPNs.The ability to flourish as part of a team, be mentally flexible and be able to summon helpful spirits in times of crisis.Proficiency in English, written and spoken.
